Villager Sun Oven

The world’s largest commercial solar cooker will cook 50 loaves of bread at one time providing hundreds of loaves of bread and other baked goods each day for villages that must use expensive fuel, there are fuel shortages or bread must be bought in larger cities. Bread purchased from larger cities are expensive, they are often 2 or 3 days old (stale), and their nutrition and taste are inferior to locally produced goods.

12 to 15 women benefit financially in a village bakery using the solar powered Villager Sun Oven. There are many giant cookers in developing countries helping small villages maintain a bakery and help preserve their nearby forest habitats. One Villager can save up to 364,000 lbs. of wood a year helping forest habitat and the watershed health of villages.
Most Villagers are donated by church groups and other civic organizations. Sun Ovens International works tirelessly to place these needed cookers throughout the world.
From an emergency perspective, one Villager is able to cook 12 to 15 hundred meals a day providing cooked meals for at least 600 individuals.
