Using Solar Cookers in Emergencies

A Solar Cooker is probably the greatest preparedness item for cooking food. It has many other advantages and uses as mentioned through the following links. Though home-made solar cookers work moderately well, the commercial Sun Oven is about the best on the market for many tasks besides cooking great tasting food.

My family has used the Sun Oven for over 13 years and I find that it is my most valuable cooking appliance (for baking). I love my BBQ and I use our regular stove top constantly, but if I am baking I prefer the better tasting food that comes out of the Sun Oven.

Here are a few links that will give you some ideas about other uses for a solar cooker and a Sun Oven besides cooking. Great ideas for emergency use!

Solar cookers are wonderful for everyday (or weekend) cooking, but they could be life-savers in a disaster or emergency situation.

Have a safe day my friend!
